Creating an account

A guide to setting up a personal profile, and using organisational profiles on the site.

If you have registered on the NCVO website, Knowhow Nonprofit uses the same login system.

Managing your organisation's profile

Our login system allows you to log in to NCVO's main websites with a single account, including:

If you are already registered on any of these sites, you can use your log in on all of them.

If you were registered with our old login system, just enter your registered email, create a new password, and you’ll find all your account information where you left it.

Creating an account

Click the sign in/up button at the top right hand side

Put in your details. Most people use their work email address to log in, although you can use any email address.

You will be emailed a link to verify your email address. Click on this, and you will be logged-in to the site.

The site will ask you for some details, such as your name and organisation (this is important to access certain content – see below). Save these, and you're ready to go!

Resetting your password

You can re-set your password from the login box.

Joining your organisation

If you link your personal profile with your organisation's profile, you can access Studyzone if you are NCVO members or Studyzone subscribers.

Simply go to 'my organisations' and click the add an organisation button. You can search for your organisation with name, postcode, and NCVO member number.

If your organisation is not already registered with Knowhow Nonprofit, you can create an account for it.

When you add an organisation, you are making a request to join it, which goes to one of the profile's administrators. If your organisation is an NCVO member, this request has to be accepted before you can access member content.

If you're not sure about your membership status or would like to know your membership number, email membership@ncvo.org.uk

Managing your organisation's profile

Each organisation's profile has an administrator. If you set up a new organisational profile you are automatically the administrator, or you might have been nominated by a colleague. As administrator of an organisation's online profile you can:

Approve requests to join

You'll receive an email every time someone requests to join the organisation, and just follow the instructions in the email.

Invite colleagues to join

Click on the 'members' tab on your organisation's profile. This will give you the chance to email out an invitation to join the organisation.

Make other colleagues administrators

It's a good idea to have more than one administrator! Click on the 'members' tab on your organisation's profile. There is the option to promote a colleague to administrator by clicking the up arrow.

Remove colleagues from the profile

You might want to do this if they leave the organisation. Click on 'members' on your organisation's profile. There is a cross button next to users' names to remove them.

Update the organisation's details.

On your organisation's profile, you should see the option to edit contact details if you hover over the relevant details.

Leaving an organisation

If you no longer wish to be be included in an organisation's membership then you can leave via your profile. Simply go to your profile, and under ‘my organisations’ click on the leave button next to the organisation.
