Ecclesiastical Insurance have been supporting KnowHow NonProfit since October 2011 – recently working with us to free create a risk assessment toolkit for charities - and we’re really pleased to be working with an organisation that truly shares our commitment to a vibrant, flourishing voluntary sector.
Ecclesiastical has been insuring not for profit organisations for 125 years and insure thousands of UK charities, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises of all shapes and sizes.
Ecclesiastical’s mission is ‘to advise and protect those who enrich the lives of others’, and they’re well known for their practical risk management advice to help charities operate safely.
Owned by a charity themselves, they give back all available profits to charity, so have a unique understanding and empathy with the sector. They’ve also been voted the best insurer for charities by charities and insurance brokers alike for five years running.
In order to extend their support to the sector, Ecclesiastical wanted to help provide advice on wider charity issues. After meeting with the KnowHow team, they felt that the best way to do this would be to get behind the KnowHow site and make sure we continue to deliver top-class learning material.
In addition to providing funding to help us deliver our work, Ecclesiastical are also working with us to develop new content in crucial areas, such as charity insurance and risk management, ready to answer any queries you have in our forum and will be contributing to our iKnowHow wiki. You can also get in touch with them on Twitter and keep up to date with the corporate responsibility work they take part in on Facebook.
Ecclesiastical have produced a series of 60 second videos aimed at those who are responsible for arranging insurance for their charity.
The videos are clear, concise and straight to the point so all levels of experience can gain value from watching.
You can watch the videos here.
Slips and trips are the most common cause of injury at work. On average, they make up over a third of all major injuries and can also lead to other types of serious accidents, for example falls from height. Slips and trips are also the most reported injury to members of the public.
Ecclesiastical provide a wide range of health and safety guidance and risk assessment forms to help you minimise the risk of slips and trips on your premises. Click to see a short video and handy infographic with further advice for your organisation.
At Ecclesiastical, through our close relationship with thousands of charity and not for profit customers, we understand the new challenge to prove and communicate your impact, above and beyond delivering your services day to day.
That’s why we’re delighted to sponsor the Impact Leadership Conference 2013 held by CFG and NPC, and also wanted to take the opportunity to provide you with this guide to maximising your impact while minimising your risk. As an insurer of the not-for-profit sector for 125 years, we have a wealth of guidance to support you in day-to-day delivery, so you can be sure your activities are safe and effective – allowing you to deliver maximum impact and really deliver on your mission.
We've just launched an online risk assessment toolkit - developed with Ecclesiastical, which is closely focused on key risks charities face such as events, outings, employees and volunteers and much more. We’d love to hear your feedback about the toolkit, and we'll also be asking you what kind of help and advice you need in the area of risk, insurance and liability, so please give us your ideas either by emailing email@example.com or tweeting the Ecclesiastical team and we’ll take your ideas on board!
We think this new sponsorship adds huge value to KnowHow and brings great benefit to the voluntary sector.
